Formerly the ‘Southwestern Modoc County Area of Wolf Activity’, the Whitehorse Pack was recognized in April 2026 after consistent evidence of wolf presence in the area for at least six months. Two wolves were detected by camera traps, scat, and tracks by CDFW biologists in August 2025. An unknown male wolf (DIS07M, full sibling to DIS06M) and WHA23F, a female from the 2023 Whaleback Pack litter, were subsequently confirmed through genetic analysis.
