The Strawberry Pack

WDFW Range Map

The Strawberry Pack’s range lies mostly within the Colville Tribal Reservation in NE Washington. They were designated as a pack in 2012.

In 2016, the pack had at least seven members, although one was legally hunted and killed on Colville Tribal lands.

In 2017, the pack had at least eight members, and one was legally hunted on tribal lands.

In 2018, the collared breeding male of the pack dispersed and paired up with at least one other wolf to form the new Nason Pack on Colville Tribal lands. As of the end of 2018, the Strawberry Pack had at least seven members, and received breeding pair designation for the year.

In 2019, one collared wolf (CTCR610) dispersed from the pack and settled in with the Togo Pack. The state’s 2019-2020 annual winter survey detected at least nine pack members, but breeding for the year (2019) was not confirmed by tribal biologists.

The 2020-2021 annual winter survey counted a minimum 10 wolves in this pack and a successful breeding pair.

Current numbers: 10

Pack status: Designated in 2012.
