The Touchet Pack formed in 2016, when OR35, a female wolf from Oregon, dispersed into Washington and reared pups with a mate.
The breeding female (OR35) then dispersed from the Touchet Pack in 2018 and found another wolf to form the Butte Creek Pack in the Blue Mountains of southeast Washington.
A collared yearling male, OR79, likely her son, dispersed from the pack in 2018 and traveled through Oregon into Idaho.

At the end of 2018, the family had four wolves and was counted as a successful breeding pair for the year.
In May 2019, state wolf biologists captured and collared an adult female pack member. During the 2019 annual survey, state wildlife biologists confirmed that the family successfully raised pups for 2019 and that the pack had a minimum of nine members.
The pack was considered to have a successful breeding pair during the 2020 annual survey, with a minimum of 13 pack members.
In 2021 and in 2022, there were a minimum of five wolves confirmed in the pack.
In September 2023, WA164M was collared in the Touchet pack territory as a yearling. He dispersed in the fall of 2024 to Oregon. WA164M dispersed from the Touchet territory in November of 2023 and continued to disperse into northeastern Oregon until March of 2024.
At the end of 2024, nine wolves were confirmed in the pack, and they were not considered a successful breeding pair.
