The Skookum Pack

Current numbers: 2

Pack status: Active. Designated in 2015.

WDFW Range Map

The Skookum Pack was confirmed in 2015 in northeast Washington. At the end of 2016, the pack had five wolves.

At the end of 2017, the pack no longer met the minimum criteria and was no longer considered an official pack.

During the 2020 annual survey, a minimum of four wolves and a successful breeding pair were counted. As such, the pack was re-designated in 2020.

In 2021, three wolves were confirmed in the pack. However, the pack disbanded in 2022, likely due to the natural death (old age) of two collared wolves in the pack.

The Skookum Pack re-established in 2023 with two wolves confirmed in the pack territory. In 2024, there were two wolves confirmed in the pack, though they were not considered a successful breeding pair.
