The light ridge wolves were originally discovered as a pair of wolves traveling together in the former Horseshoe pack territory in 2023.
In 2024, they were designated as the The Light Ridge group, with a total of three wolves, including one pup, documented during the winter count. They were not documented as a breeding pair.
