The Keno Wolves

Reports of wolf activity in this area of Klamath and Jackson counties just above the California border began to appear in 2014. By 2015, biologists had documented some evidence of three wolves in the area. In 2016 and early 2017, evidence of three different wolves was again seen in the area.

No wolves were documented in the area through the remainder of 2017 or 2018. The area may serve as a corridor for wolf travel between Oregon and California rather than as a permanent territory. The area continues to be monitored.
