Four wolves started using the winter territory of the former Imnaha Pack in early 2016. A ten-month old pup from the group was collared and dispersed from the area. In 2017, they were named the Harl Butte Pack, and an adult male from the family was collared.
Also in 2017, the family produced at least three pups, but their survival status was unknown. The breeding male was collared in February and then left the area.
In 2018, no Harl Butte wolves were found in the area, and the pack status was discontinued. Two other groups of wolves began using the area.
