Current numbers: 2
Pack status: Active. Designated in 2023.
The Dollar Mountain Pack in Washington was confirmed as a pack in 2023 on the land counted and managed by the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation (CTCR) in Ferry County. The pack had a minimum count of ten wolves, including five pups, and was considered a successful breeding pair in 2023.
In 2024, the Tribes confirmed once again that there were ten wolves with five pups born into the pack. However, they were not able to successfully do end-of-the-year flights or track surveys, therefore, the year-end minimum known number for the pack was likely lower than reported, with known pup survival on average of 25%.
In December, a male wolf collared by CTCR biologists dispersed from the Dollar Mountain territory into British Columbia. The final count for wolves in the Dollar Mountain Pack in 2024 was five, with no confirmed successful breeding pair.
In 2025, five wolves from this pack died. One died of natural causes, while three were legally killed by the CTCR, and one was illegally killed by a human not affiliated with the Tribes. Two more wolves dispersed from the pack, so by the end of the year, only two wolves remained in the pack and they did not successfully breed.
