Pack Status: No longer active. Designated in 2024.
The Antelope Pack was confirmed as a pack in early 2024, after two wolves were detected by camera traps multiple times between March and October of 2023. The pack is thought to have primarily occupied Sierra County as well as portions of northern Nevada County.
In the summer of 2024, wolf WHA08M (Whaleback male 2021 litter), one of the two Antelope Pack wolves, was genetically detected on CDFW’s Hallelujah Junction Wildlife Area at a livestock-wolf predation investigation.
During helicopter captures in January 2025, WHA08M from the Antelope Pack was confirmed to be traveling with LAS23F and several younger Beyem Seyo wolves, suggesting that the Beyem Seyo and Antelope packs have merged. Collar data confirms that these wolves continue to use what was previously the Antelope pack range. Because of this, the Antelope Pack is no longer considered active.
