Pack Status: No longer active. Designated in 2021.
Three wolves were photographed by a trail camera at a confirmed livestock predation site in Plumas County in May 2021 after tracks of two wolves were seen in that area earlier that year.
DNA analysis indicated that one female wolf of this pack was LAS12F from the Lassen Pack’s 2019 litter. The origins of the other wolves remain unknown, though it has been determined that one of these two is not related to any known California packs.
There have been intermittent detections of wolves throughout the Beckwourth pack areas since their discovery; however, the pack has had no confirmed detections since late fall of 2023.
The fate of the original pack is unknown, and it is possible that more recent detections were unrelated dispersing wolves moving through the area. As of fall 2024, the collared breeding female of the Beyem Seyo Pack was shown to have been utilizing areas in the Beckwourth Pack’s home range. The Beckwourth Pack is no longer considered active.
